Q: Is it legal to hold a casino fundraiser?
A: Yes. Any nonprofit group with a minimum one-year IRS/IRC tax exempt status may host a casino fundraiser. In Washington, a minimum of 15 voting members is required.
Q: Do I need to get a license?
A: Maybe. If you expect to make less than $2,000 from the casino and you are a registered 501( ) non profit organization, you are not required to have a License in Oregon. For licensing requirements in Oregon go to: www.leg.state.or.us/ors/464.html and scroll down to 464.270. For fees and applications for Monte Carlo Events in Oregon go to: www.doj.state.or.us/ChariGroup/applygaming.htm and click on "Try to find the new url". Q: What does Wild Bill’s provide for a casino or poker fundraiser?
A: We include everything to make your event a huge success! Casino quality gaming tables and supplies, friendly professional dealers, pre-packaged "Fun-Paks" to sell to your guests, our proprietary Fundraising Manual and appropriate signage. All you need to supply are the guests, the venue and the prizes!
Q: How does my organization make money?
A: Your profits are made from 3 areas: ticket sales, table sponsorships and scrip sales. We work with your group in all of these areas to maximize your profits.
Q: Do the guests play for real money?
A: No. The law does not allow real money games at casino fundraisers. Participants play with Wild Bill's bucks for a chance to win prizes collected by your organization.
Q: What other fundraising activities are available from Wild Bill's?
A: A great addition to any fundraiser is our “$10,000 Putting Challenge! Your guests purchase putts at a predetermined rate and one lucky contestant will have the opportunity to putt for $10,000 in cold hard cash!
